Integrating Health and Social Care: Insights and Recommendations from a Consensus Study

10am-11am PT/ 1pm-2pm ET
CHaSCI

Healthcare is not delivering health for many Americans, and there is increasing recognition in the need for healthcare to be more responsive and attentive to individuals' social needs - and to play a role in structural change to strengthen communities and address health inequities. In 2018, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) launched a consensus study on the types of activities and care models that can integrate health and social care, and on the workforce, data, financing, and research needs to be addressed to advance the field and maximize impact. The committee's report, "Integrating Social Care into the Delivery of Health Care: Moving Upstream to Improve the Nation’s Health," was released in September 2019. Join the CHaSCI Community on Tuesday, December 17th from 1:00-2:00pm ET (12-1pm CT, 10-11am PT) to learn about the report directly from two members of the consensus study's interdisciplinary committee.
