Eric Fleegler, MD, MPH

Harvard Medical School, Boston Children’s Hospital

Dr. Fleegler is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a pediatric emergency physician and health services researcher at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Fleegler’s primary interests include understanding and improving families’ social determinants and injury prevention. Since 2003 he has developed multiple systems to improve the health of children. HelpSteps is a web-based screening and referral system to help families with social problems connect with social services. It is the backbone referral system for the Boston Public Health Commission and he received a Special Achievement Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics for the development. He also co-founded and directs TriVox Health, a platform designed to manage patient’s chronic diseases and improve patient and doctor communication between visits. Dr. Fleegler also studies and speaks nationally on firearm-related violence and ways to decrease firearm injuries.
