Characterization of the social determinants of health faced by hospitalized patients

The goals of this study were to characterize the most common social risk factors experienced by hospitalized patients and identify which patients are at higher risk of having them. This prospective cross-sectional study from September 13, 2021 through May 6, 2022 analyzed screenings performed at a public 234-bed teaching hospital and three primary care general medicine clinics located in a rural, suburban, and urban areas that sampled the population the hospital served.
