Aligning systems for health: Research learnings from across the nation
Georgia Health Policy Center
This book marks the second volume of published learnings from the project and the completion of 21 sponsored studies conducted by research partners across the country.
This work to better understand how to align across sectors nearly entirely occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the pandemic challenged communities, and put health care, public health, and social services sectors under enormous pressure, the crises also created an urgency for collaboration. And so, the tremendous efforts of the research teams and their community partners continued.
The research published in this book represents three cohorts that studied aligning to respond to crisis, measuring aligning, and adopting aligning approaches. The studies surface universal insights, novel insights, challenges the field faces, and hopefully, a renewed sense of optimism that as the knowledge base expands community-directed action is possible to create places where all can be healthy and thrive.
