Incorporating financial coaching into pediatric primary care is feasible and acceptable within a large, urban academic center. A hybrid model builds in-person relationships without taking up extra clinic space and facilitates easy virtual follow up.

We aimed to understand whether we can increase engagement with financial coaching by integrating it into a frequented, trusted setting, pediatric primary care.

Eighty six out of 99 families had financial need and were interested in coaching; 76 (88%) enrolled, and 42 (49%) engaged in coaching. Our coach had brief interactions with families in clinic 272 times and conducted 74 in-depth coaching sessions (1.8 coaching sessions/family). Sessions lasted 45 to 60 minutes.
