It's time for health care to see the humanism in housing

Evidence has shown the obvious: housing is the first step towards improved health and quality of life for PEH, and consequently improved public health. Therefore, it is in part the responsibility of the health care sector to invest in housing where systemic gaps exist in order to provide humanistic care to their communities.

Physicians and health system leaders who become desensitized to the suffering of homelessness cannot enact the urgent solutions that are needed. To accomplish our shared goals, we can cultivate humanism towards PEH. And we can create financial supports and incentives to sustain this work.
