Reframing social drivers of health in patient quality and safety

Although evidence for the effectiveness of social care interventions on overall quality performance is still emerging, there is growing support for their impact in specific populations and disease states. Activities related to SDOH are critical to achieving not just health equity, but all 6 domains of quality. Therefore, positioning SDOH under the quality umbrella is needed to help sustain and strengthen recent progress around health and social care integration.
